Description

Oak and Willow Sage is an original watercolour-on-paper design from the William Morris Gallery archive. Presented here in a gentle palette of sage greens, muted ochres and soft blush pinks, the colouring brings a fresh lightness to the flowing foliage and intricate symmetry characteristic of the Arts and Crafts style. Although unattributed, the design is thought to be by John Henry Dearle, William Morris’s chief designer, and shares stylistic similarities with his 1879 wallpaper Acorn. The scale and repeat of the pattern suggest it was intended for use as a wallpaper, though there is no record of it ever entering production. Now reimagined for today, this design brings a sense of heritage and timeless artistry into your home. Printed on high quality non-woven paper, for a fresh and refined finish.
