Description

Oak and Willow Damson is an original watercolour-on-paper design from the William Morris Gallery archive. Rendered here in rich Damson reds, blush pinks and soft cream tones, the palette highlights the flowing foliage and intricate symmetry characteristic of the Arts and Crafts style. Although unattributed, the design is thought to be by John Henry Dearle, William Morris’s chief designer, and shares stylistic similarities with his 1879 wallpaper Acorn. The scale and repeat of the pattern suggest it was intended for use as a wallpaper, though there is no record of it ever entering production. Now thoughtfully revived to bring life to your walls and invite artistic heritage into your home. Printed on high quality non-woven paper, this wallpaper leaves an elegant finish on your walls.
