This charming all-over pattern is characterised by densely packed clover and dainty flowers amongst scrolling leaves. Clover was designed in 1903 by William Morris' chief designer John Henry Dearle. Having begun working for William Morris as a teenager, John Henry Dearle was devoted to William Morris and designed many patterns on behalf of his mentor and friend.
